Upon arriving at Keflavik airport, your first stop is the fascinating Viking World Museum. Continue along the Reykjavik Peninsula - recognised as a UNESCO Global Geopark - before stopping at Lake Kleifarvatn, one of the deepest in Iceland. Continue to Krýsuvíkurbjarg, where the North Atlantic Ocean breaks on the great stretch of cliffs and an array of birdlife circles above. After settling into your hotel, the next three days will be spent further exploring the southern Icelandic Highlands. Enjoy a private super Jeep tour of Thorsmork Valley and explore the South Shore, famous for its black-sand beaches and waterfalls, some of which you can walk behind. Tour the world-famous Eyjafjallajökull volcano, try ice-climbing and visit an Icelandic horse farm, meeting local farmers and witnessing special training techniques.

While based in Iceland’s colourful and creative capital city Reykjavik, your adventures continues with a scenic, guided tour of the Golden Circle, an area of three of Iceland’s most impressive natural sites – the Geysir geothermal area, home to the energetic spouting spring Strokkur; the spectacular 150-foot Gullfoss (Golden Falls) Waterfall; and UNESCO World Heritage Site, Thingvellir National Park, which became the first national park of Iceland.

Take a private walk with your host around the coastal town of Ilulissat in western Greenland, famed for its giant icebergs and home to the World Heritage Site, Ice Fjord. Following dinner at Hotel Arctic, take a boat ride around the fjord in the midnight sun. You will also visit Eqi, the most calving glacier in the northern hemisphere. Beautiful icebergs are also the setting for the old settlement of Sermermiut, located one and a half kilometers south of Ilulissat. For 4,000 years, different Inuit cultures lived in the settlement and today you can still see many remains that indicate their presence. Later, you will meet a local hunter and his pack of Siberian and Greenlandic Huskies, learning all about dog-sledding and its long history in the country.
