The ryokan houses forty guest rooms and suites, flaunting a traditional Japanese feel with tatami mats, rattan flooring and low dining tables and chairs. Nine suites (that our Luxury Travel Specialists recommend) feature balconies with private onsens, ensuring a sense of privacy and serenity that the others do not. Select suites include use of a small private lounge that opens out onto a charming Japanese garden, in which guests can enjoy limited alcoholic drinks, tea, coffee and nibbles. Each room features a satellite TV, telephone, fridge, traditional yukata robes, a tea set and small bathroom with a range of amenities.
Spa Breaks
For a uniquely Japanese experience, head to one of the two public onsens (or the private ones in specific suites) and immerse yourself in the natural hot spring. Feel your worries melt away as your stressors disappear with the steam while you overlook the verdant mountains of Shinshu and the Yomase River. For a more communal experience, head to the “Yumeji-no-Yu" and "Yumemi-no-Yu" and unwind in the many varieties of bath, from open-air to sleeping or hanging. If you’re in search of a more traditional spa experience, spend time at the Kirameki Spa, offering a range of therapies using organic products from renowned British skincare brand, Neal’s Yard Remedies. Choices range from traditional Japanese-style massages, to rejuvenating facials, and much more!
Dining & Gourmet
Restaurant Nanohanakoji comprises Japanese-style private dining rooms, in which you can enjoy a choice of three banquet menus, made using the freshest and finest ingredients sourced from the Shinshu region. Many guests choose to dine in their complimentary yukata robes for an authentic Japanese experience.
